Dr. Md. Harun Or Rashid is a seasoned academic and researcher with over 20 years of experience in agronomy, agro-ecology, and environmental science. Currently a Professor in the Department of Agronomy at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), he holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and Environmental Science from Saitama University, Japan, supported by a prestigious MEXT scholarship. Dr. Rashid’s research focuses on sustainable crop production, climate change adaptation, and plant-soil interactions. He has led and collaborated on numerous national and international research projects funded by agencies such as JSPS, ACIAR, and UKRI. He has published extensively, authoring over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles and several book chapters. He has served in editorial roles for reputed journals and conferences and actively contributes to institutional development as Additional Director of IQAC and Associate Director of HCDI at BAU. He is also a life member of several professional societies, including BSA, JUAAB, and ESB and a general member of International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA). Dr. Rashid’s academic excellence has been recognized through numerous awards, including the UGC Gold Medal and the Vice-Chancellor’s Award. His commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture continues to impact both academic and policy spheres in Bangladesh and beyond.
